तुम हर सुबह Slack खोलते हो। Notion में अधूरे ideas लिख मारते हो। Linear में tickets इधर-उधर drag करते हो जैसे कोई digital सफाईवाला। ये apps तुम्हारे projects जानते हैं, deadlines जानते हैं, रात 2 बजे के brain dumps जानते हैं। तुम इन पर भरोसा करते हो क्योंकि ये tools हैं — बेवकूफ, आज्ञाकारी, अपने दम पर सोचने में असमर्थ। जैसे एक अच्छे intern को होना चाहिए।
तीन कंपनियों ने अभी वो contract ही बदल दिया। और सबसे डरावनी बात? तुमने पहले से ही उन्हें चाबी दे रखी है।
Slack को Nervous System मिल गया
31 मार्च को Salesforce ने Slackbot पर 30+ AI features उड़ेल दिए, एक glorified search box को "agentic operating system" में बदल दिया। Anthropic के Claude से powered, नया Slackbot MCP (Model Context Protocol — सोचो USB जैसा, बस AI को तुम्हारा data खंगालने देने के लिए) के ज़रिए 6,000+ apps से जुड़ जाता है। ये तुम्हारी Zoom और Google Meet calls सुनता है, channels में mention हुई deals को track करता है, CRM records auto-update करता है, meetings से action items assign करता है — बिना तुम्हारी उंगली हिलाए। या digital जासूसी के हर act के लिए तुम्हारी मंज़ूरी लिए।
Slack ने ये pattern invent नहीं किया — बस volume full कर दिया। Linear के CEO Karri Saarinen ने 26 मार्च को "issue tracking is dead" का ऐलान किया, एक ऐसा agent ship किया जो Slack की बातचीत से खुद tickets बनाता है और काम को इंसानों के पास route करता है — एक middle manager जो कभी सोता नहीं। पहले से 75% enterprise workspaces coding agents चला रहे हैं, और agent-driven work volume तीन महीने में 5 गुना बढ़ा। Notion ने तो और पहले से ज़मीन तैयार कर रखी थी अपने 24 फरवरी के Custom Agents launch से — agents जो schedule पर चलते हैं, tasks triage करते हैं, emails draft करते हैं, और standups compile करते हैं जब तुम तकिए पर लार बहा रहे होते हो। Early testers ने 21,000 से ज़्यादा custom agents बनाए। Notion खुद internally 2,800 चलाता है, क्योंकि "हमें अपने product पर भरोसा है" कहने का इससे अच्छा तरीका क्या होगा कि liability के सवालों का जवाब आने से पहले ही अपनी कंपनी पर छोड़ दो।
Tool से Unsupervised Intern तक
ये बदलाव subtle है और अगर पांच सेकंड से ज़्यादा सोचो तो बेहद uncomfortable। जो AI तुम्हें पता है वो passive है: तुम पूछो, वो जवाब दे, चुप हो जाए। नया AI active है: ये देखता है, decide करता है, और execute करता है। तुम्हारा note app अभी-अभी एक unsupervised junior employee बन गया जिसके पास तुम्हारे हर document का root access है। क्या गलत हो सकता है भला।
Slack का desktop agent scope creep का poster child है जो convenience का मुखौटा पहने है। TNW के शब्दों में, ये "सबसे significant privacy surface वाला feature" है — Slack चाहता है कि तुम AI को अपने computer पर persistent visibility दो। Slack कसम खाता है सब opt-in है। Rob Seaman, Slack के interim CEO, कहते हैं: "Everything is user opt-in. That's a key tenet of Slack." तुम्हारा data models train नहीं करता। Preferences कभी भी flush कर सकते हो।
दिल को छू लेने वाली बात। बस "opt-in" और "informed consent" एक ही दुनिया में नहीं रहते। जैसे ही तुम desktop agent enable करते हो, ये तुम्हारी हर पहले से connected integration inherit कर लेता है — Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Notion — सब एक checkbox से accessible जो तुमने सुबह की चाय से पहले क्लिक किया था। Linear का agent भी existing permissions के अंदर काम करता है, जो reassuring लगता है जब तक तुम्हें याद न आए कि वो permissions तुमने 2024 में onboarding के वक्त set की थीं और तब से देखी भी नहीं।
Dealer की Playbook
Notion के Custom Agents 3 मई 2026 तक free हैं, फिर credits-based model पर shift। Linear "एक certain threshold के बाद" usage-based pricing लाएगा। Slack अभी Business+ और Enterprise+ को features दे रहा है, Free/Pro tiers को इस महीने टुकड़े मिलेंगे। Classic dealer logic: पहला taste free, और जब तक invoice आए, agent को निकालने का मतलब है अपने workflow की लोबोटॉमी।
हर action vendor servers से गुज़रता है। जब तुम्हारा Notion agent रात 3 बजे email triage करता है, वो data OpenAI या Anthropic के infrastructure तक का सफर करता है, process होता है, और वापस आता है। Notion और Slack दोनों agent runs audit के लिए log करते हैं — अच्छी बात — लेकिन autonomous actions revert करना अभी भी manual archaeology है। मज़े करो सुबह नाश्ते के साथ logs पढ़ो और पता लगाओ कि तुम्हारे AI ने रात को boss को कौन सी तीन emails लिख मारीं।
Hood के नीचे देखो, Drive करने से पहले
कोई भी agent switch flip करने से पहले: देखो ये चीज़ actually क्या-क्या देख सकती है। अपनी connected integrations review करो। समझो कि ये बिना पूछे क्या-क्या कर सकता है। Notion कम से कम सब कुछ log करता है और admins को agent creation restrict करने देता है। Slack के admin controls भी हैं। लेकिन defaults maximum access के favor में हैं, क्योंकि product demos में restraint पर कोई ताली नहीं बजाता।
तुम्हारे Notion को upgrade नहीं मिला। Slack का facelift नहीं हुआ। इन्हें autonomy मिली — और autonomy उस tool में जिसके पास पहले से तुम्हारी पूरी work life की चाबी है, उसे fundamentally अलग product बना देती है। जो tool चुपचाप बैठकर तुम्हारा command सुनता था, अब उसकी राय है कि आगे क्या करना है, और budget भी है कि तुम्हारे सोते वक्त कर डाले।
सवाल ये नहीं कि productivity tools में AI agents useful हैं या नहीं। Obviously हैं — circular saw भी useful है। सवाल ये है कि note-taking app के लिए तुम्हारा threat model तब भी टिकता है क्या जब वो app रात 3 बजे तुम्हारी तरफ से emails भेजने लगे। तुमने एक notebook पर भरोसा किया था। अब notebook के अपने इरादे हैं।
