March 2026 तक, Google Gemini के लिए चार अलग-अलग AI subscription levels चला रहा है — उनका LLM (large language model — वो AI brain जो ChatGPT, Claude, या Gemini जैसे chatbot products के पीछे काम करता है)। मैंने हर tier को reverse-engineer किया, bundle math किया, और पता लगाया कि value कहाँ छुपी है — और कहाँ Google चुपचाप तुम्हारी जेब काट रहा है।

17 March, 2026 को Google ने Personal Context और Personal Intelligence हर free-tier Gemini user को US में दे दिया। 9to5Google के मुताबिक, ज़्यादातर users को upgrade का पता भी नहीं चला। Personal Context का मतलब है कि Gemini अब तुम्हारी preferences conversations के बीच याद रखता है — कौन सा tone पसंद है, किस project पर काम कर रहे हो, पिछले मंगलवार को क्या पूछा था। ये feature January 2026 में beta launch के बाद से paid AI Pro और AI Ultra tiers के पीछे बंद था।

अगर तुम AI casually use करते हो — दिन में कुछ सवाल, थोड़ी writing help, कभी-कभार brainstorming — तो यहीं पढ़ना बंद करो। सीरियसली। Free tier अब वो cover करता है जिसके लिए लोग अठारह महीने पहले पैसे देते थे।

Project Mariner असली product यहाँ है। ये एक Chrome extension है जो तुम्हारे लिए web browse करता है — forms भरता है, websites से data collect करता है, prices compare करता है, repetitive browser tasks handle करता है। ये एक साथ 10 parallel task streams चलाता है और इसमें "Teach & Repeat" feature है: Mariner को एक बार workflow दिखाओ, और वो automatically repeat करना सीख लेता है।

Google Fine Print में क्या छुपाता है

Free tier को 17 March को चुपके से upgrade मिला। Personal Context और Intelligence पहले AI Pro paywall के पीछे थे। Google ने बिना कोई शोर मचाए इन्हें free कर दिया — शायद इसलिए कि ये advertise करना कि तुम्हारे paid features अब free हो गए, conversion के लिए अच्छा नहीं है।

Pro असल में एक storage deal है। 2TB Google One value निकालो तो AI की कीमत ~₹850/month रह जाती है। ये किसी भी standalone AI subscription के मुकाबले बेहद सस्ता है।
